Waukon wrestling team ends five-season winless streak in NEIC competition with split of home double-dual, finishes eighth at South Winn Tournament

Waukon 285-pound junior Alex Brink muscles New Hampton sophomore Tom Clark to his back for what would eventually be a fall in just 29 seconds in the Indians’ home double-dual with the Class 2A top-rated Chickasaws and Oelwein Thursday, December 8. Brink’s pin was the Tribe’s lone victory against the highly-regarded New Hampton squad, and he also recorded a fall in 3:07 to get the Indians off to a fast start in their 42-33 win over Oelwein, the Tribe’s first Northeast Iowa Conference dual meet victory in six seasons.
