Waukon boys basketball team has pair of close home battles taken away late in falling to Clayton Ridge in overtime and top-rated Waverly-Shell Rock

The Waukon boys basketball team entered the holiday break with back-to-back home losses that got away in the second half this past week. The Indians allowed a double-digit fourth quarter lead to erode away to a 56-54 overtime loss to Clayton Ridge Monday, December 19 before having just a two-point halftime deficit balloon to a 71-51 loss to Class 3A top-rated Waverly-Shell Rock Tuesday, December 20 in a game made up from Friday, December 16.

Now holding a 2-3 season record, 1-2 in Northeast Iowa Conference play, the basketball Tribe is in the midst of a holiday break from school and competition. The Indians will return to the court Tuesday, January 3 for a Northeast Iowa Conference road clash at Decorah before playing a pair of home games, one on each side of the weekend, Friday, January 6 against undefeated Charles City and Monday, January 9 against North Fayette Valley. The Tribe will then play at New Hampton Friday, January 13.
