Waukon girls basketball team’s single-win week includes home win over Prairie du Chien and losses to third-rated Crestwood and at 10th-rated Waverly-Shell Rock

The Waukon girls basketball team had a busy week shift from early in the week to later, having the game’s final results also shift within that timeframe. The Lady Indians opened the week with a 44-33 home triumph over Prairie du Chien, WI Monday, January 30 before falling on back-to-back nights to a pair of Northeast Iowa Conference teams ranked within the top 10 of their respective classes, including a 68-28 home loss to Class 3A third-rated Crestwood Thursday, January 26 in a game rescheduled from January 24, with that being followed by a 53-33 loss at Class 4A 10th-rated Waverly-Shell Rock Friday, January 27.

Holding a 7-10 season record, 2-7 in Northeast Iowa Conference play, the basketball Tribe was scheduled to host Spring Grove, MN Monday, January 30 before playing back-to-back nights at home, Friday, February 3 against Charles City and Saturday, February 4 against Decorah in a make-up game postponed twice from January 3 and January 16. The Waukon girls will then travel to Decorah Tuesday, January 7 before being scheduled to begin postseason tournament play Saturday, February 11 at third-rated Crestwood.
