“Live Healthy Iowa” draws to a close, participation prizes will be awarded by Veterans Memorial Hospital

The 2017 Live Healthy Iowa challenge that so many local Iowans are participating in will soon be drawing to a close, March 31. Veterans Memorial Hospital has announced it will again be awarding prizes to all those in Allamakee and northern Clayton counties that participated in this Live Healthy Iowa 10 Week Wellness Challenge in 2017.

Prizes for all participants will be awarded during the hospital’s annual Family Wellness Fair which will be held Wednesday, May 10 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the hospital.

Veterans Memorial Hospital supports and encourages the Live Healthy Iowa state-wide wellness program for all individuals in this area for wellness motivation and support. This web-based program offers all participants a personal tracking page that allows everyone to keep their own results right in front of them at all times. It also gives professional support including weekly motivational emails and unlimited access to recipes, workouts and other health information, all easily accessible on the Live Healthy Iowa website.

For the last five years, Allamakee County won the community participation prize for the number of residents enrolled in the program and will hopefully be able to claim that title again for a sixth year.

In order to claim your participation prize at the Veterans Memorial Hospital Family Wellness Fair, Live Healthy Iowa participants are asked to present their access card at the receptionist desk during the fair. Personalized participant access cards can be found by going to the Live Healthy Iowa website at www.livehealthyiowa.org, under the participant’s “my dashboard” tab. In the middle of that page under “my access tools,” click on the “access card” option. The card can then be printed and brought into the hospital the day of the fair to redeem the prize.
