The Waukon girls golf team split its two meets at home this past week to suffer its first loss of the season in Northeast Iowa Conference (NEIC) play. The Lady Indians first extended their NEIC undefeated streak to three straight matches with a 205-221 win over Crestwood Monday, April 24 before falling for the first time this season to a NEIC foe, a 170-205 home loss to Class 3A second-rated New Hampton Friday, April 28.

The Waukon golf girls were scheduled to complete their dual match season this week, playing at Oelwein Monday, May 1 and at Charles City Tuesday, May 2 in a match rescheduled from April 4, but that Oelwein match has been postponed to an unknown date at this time due to rainy weather. The Lady Indians will then enter tournament play, competing in the Northeast Iowa Conference Tournament Monday, May 8 and then their Class 2A Sectional Tournament at New Hampton Monday, May 15, details of which can be found elsewhere in the print edition and e-edition of The Standard.
