Hundreds of motorcyclists to parade through Waukon this Saturday as part of annual Patriot Tour event

Traditionally beginning and ending in Wisconsin, the Patriot Tour consists of one American Flag being carried through 48 continental states, escorted by tens of thousands of motorcycle riders for 110 days straight all in honor of America's Armed Forces members.

The annual Tour typically travels through Waukon in September near the end of the Tour, but this year will be reversing its course in making Waukon its first visit on the Tour this weekend.

The Patriot Tour is a vehicle through which the Nation of Patriots organization strives to unite Americans beneath the colors of this nation's flag and behind the men and women who stand up to defend them. The Patriot Tour works to raise financial support and awareness for the families of wounded veterans.

This year, the Tour will initiate at Madison Harley-Davidson in Madison, WI, and Waukon Harley-Davidson will be the first stop for the Tour this Saturday, May 27.  Arriving riders will ride as a parade through Waukon before the flag transfer to the next group of riders. The flag will continue to the next Tour stop, Zylstra Harley-Davidson in Ames, Sunday, May 28.

The Tour is anticipated to arrive at the Waukon Wellness Center at approximately 3 p.m. this Saturday, where hundreds of riders will gather before parading down Main Street to the stop light intersection in downtown Waukon. The parade will then travel down Spring Avenue/Rossville Road south out of Waukon to Waukon Harley-Davidson, where the flag transfer ceremony will take place as it has in year's past.
