Alice Feuerhelm

Alice Mae Feuerhelm, 89, of Lansing died Monday, June 19, 2017 at Thornton Manor in Lansing. Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, June 23 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lansing. Burial followed at Gethsemane Cemetery, Lansing.

Alice Mae was born March 24, 1928 to Michael and Elizabeth (Manning) Gavin in rural Wexford. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Lansing.

Alice was united in marriage with Burton Feuerhelm February 15, 1947 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wexford. Together with her husband, Alice worked hard on the family farm while raising their children. She enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing, canning and tending to the needs of her family. Alice was a devoted member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She loved playing cards, attending family functions and spending time with her family.

Alice is survived by her children, Jerry (Amy) Feuerhelm of Ankeny, Thomas (Diane) Feuerhelm of New Albin, Roger Feuerhelm of Lansing and Mary Gray of Lansing; her daughter-in-law, Shirley Harwood of Prairie du Chien, WI; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Burton Feuerhelm, August 1, 1994; her parents, Michael and Elizabeth Gavin; one son, Ron Feuerhelm; and her siblings, Sister Sheila, Clarence, Regina, Paul, Dan, Marguerite, Leona, Elizabeth and Clair.

Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Lansing assisted the family with arrangements.
