Waukon volleyball team wins three of five matches on the way to Silver Bracket title at home tournament

In its only competition of the week, the Waukon volleyball team hosted its annual weekend tournament Saturday, September 16. The Indian netters won three out of the five matches they played on the day, finishing third in their initial four-team pool with a 1-2 match record before sweeping their final two matches in the Silver Tournament to ultimately finish seventh in the 12-team tournament.

Holding a 7-13 season record, 0-1 in Northeast Iowa Conference play, the Indians were next scheduled to play at Oelwein Tuesday, September 19 for their only competition this week. The volleyball Tribe will then host Class 4A fourth-rated Waverly-Shell Rock Tuesday, September 26 before then traveling to New Hampton Thursday, September 28 and playing in the Waterloo Columbus Tournament Saturday, September 30.
