Jeannette Hegeman

Jeannette “Jeannie” E. Hegeman, 76, of Waukon died Monday, November 6, 2017 at Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. Funeral services were held Thursday, November 9 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon, with Fr. Mark Osterhaus officiating. Burial was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon.

Jeannette Elizabeth Hegeman was born November 29, 1940 in Waukon, the daughter of Donald and Betty (Blake) Hegeman. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick Catholic Church and graduated from St. Patrick High School. Jeannie received her nursing degree in 1975 and worked in Waterloo as a psychiatric nurse. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and was very involved with politics. Jeannie enjoyed working in her garden, bird watching from her back porch, and collecting antiques.

Survivors include her children: Mitch Irvin, Mike (Susan) Irvin, Jeremy (Alex) Irvin, Sue (Brad) Dutcher, John Irvin, Bill Irvin, James Irvin, Katie (Scott) Dixon and Joe (Nikky) Irvin; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her siblings: Jim (Rebecca) Hegeman, Kathy (Bob) Meyer and Therese Hegeman. She is preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Kim Dutcher; and her siblings: Bill Hegeman, Mary Ann Champion and Blake Hegeman.
