Upcoming events for Waukon and Kee athletic teams following current holiday break

Both the Kee and Waukon athletic teams will be returning to competition following the holiday break, starting that return shortly after the new year begins. That schedule for both the Hawks’ and Indians’ returns to competition in the initial weeks of January is slated as follows:

Kee -
The Kee boys and girls basketball teams will return from their holiday break with competition toward the end of the week following the New Year holiday, beginning Thursday, January 4 with the Kee boys playing host to Houston, MN. Both the boys and girls will then play at Clayton Ridge Friday, January 5 before both host Starmont Tuesday, January 9 and then play at MFL/MarMac Friday, January 12.

Waukon -
The post-holiday competition schedule for Waukon High School athletics will begin Tuesday, January 2 with the Waukon girls basketball team hosting MFL/MarMac before the Indian girls also welcome Charles City Friday, January 5 and then host North Fayette Valley Monday, January 8. The Waukon boys basketball team will return to a busy slate of competition around the weekend following the New Year holiday, beginning with a Friday, January 5 Northeast Iowa Conference match-up at Charles City before playing Wapsie Valley Saturday, January 6 at Wartburg College in Waverly. The Tribe basketball boys will also play at North Fayette Valley Monday, January 8.

Not competing this past week, the Waukon wrestling and bowling teams will also be returning to competition the weekend after the New Year holiday. The wrestling Tribe will host Decorah Thursday, January 4 before competing in the Central Elkader Tournament Saturday, January 6 and then wrestling at Fillmore Central Thursday, January 11 and then in the Decorah Tournament Saturday, January 13.

The Waukon bowling team was originally scheduled to bowl at North Fayette Valley Friday, January 5, but that meet has been changed to Monday, January 8. The bowling Tribe will then host Waterloo Columbus Friday, January 12.
