Waukon girls track team finally gets outdoor season underway with fifth-place finish at New Hampton Invite

The Waukon girls track team was finally able to take to the outdoor track in competition for the first time this season, after having had two weeks worth of meets canceled so far to start the season. The Lady Indians traveled to New Hampton Thursday, April 12, managing a half dozen top-six finishes to help compile 52 team points on the way to a fifth-place team finish in the meet’s final nine-team standings.

The Indians were scheduled to compete at Crestwood Tuesday, April 17 (that meet now being canceled due to weather) before traveling to North Fayette Valley Friday, April 20. The Lady Indians are then scheduled to host their own Indian Relays Tuesday, April 24 - details of which appear in a shaded box elsewhere on these same Sports pages - before traveling to Monona April 26.
