Pheasants Forever to host Habitat Field Tours; Waukon event is June 17

Pheasants Forever and partners in northeast Iowa will be hosting several field days during National Pollinator Week, June 17-23. They will provide educational opportunities for farmers, landowners and others interested in seeking information about pheasants, monarchs, pollinators, wildlife habitat conservation and management. These Pollinator Habitat Field Tours are open to the public and free of charge. Light refreshments will be provided.

The most local Pollinator Habitat Field Tour is scheduled for Monday, June 17 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and will begin at Freedom Bank (formerly Farmers & Merchants Savings Bank), located at 201 West Main Street in Waukon.

Those attending will then travel to various Field Day sites throughout the local area. Travel between sites will be up to each of those attending, but a vehicle capable of driving on gravel roads is recommended. It is also recommended to dress for walking in tall vegetation, such as long pants, sturdy shoes, etc. Those attending are also advised to bring sunscreen, bug spray, a hat and water.

The event will happen rain or shine. There will be an indoor education/information session held in the event of severe weather. For more information about this or other field tours in the area later in the week contact Allie Rath at 319-330-6015.
