Slippery When Wet - The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute will headline musical grandstand act at this year’s Allamakee County Fair

Local favorite The Caminos will open Saturday night’s music event

The grandstand at the Allamakee County Fairgrounds will be rockin’ and rollin’ Saturday, July 11 in Waukon, as this year’s grandstand musical act for the Allamakee County Fair will feature some new flair and some local air.

The Allamakee County Fair Board has announced that it will be bringing the next best thing to legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Bon Jovi to the fair this year when Slippery When Wet - The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute hits the stage to headline this year’s musical entertainment for the fair. This four-man group is led by frontman Jason Morey on vocals, Adin Stickle on guitar, Jimmi Botsford on bass and John Martin on drums.

Opening for that tribute rock sensation will be a local favorite with an even bigger dose of local flavor when The Caminos hit the stage to begin Saturday night’s musical display. The Caminos are a four-piece cover band that calls La Crosse, WI its home base but includes a great deal of Waukon familiarity with James Deeney on vocals and acoustic guitar, Jason Herman on guitar and backing vocals, Jeffrey Bahr on drums, percussion and backing vocals, and Patrick Longmire, Jr. on bass guitar and backing vocals.

ABOUT SLIPPERY WHEN WET
Slippery When Wet - The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute was formed in 2003 by frontman Jason Morey after he was often mistaken for Jon Bon Jovi himself, most notably by celebrity comedian Dave Chappelle. It helped that he grew up listening to classic Bon Jovi albums such as “Slippery When Wet” and “New Jersey”. Morey was featured as the legendary Jon Bon Jovi in the 2018 Legends in Concert show in Las Vegas, NV, the most famous impersonator show in the world.

Slippery When Wet has played over 1,500 shows throughout the U.S. alone and has traveled to Africa, Mexico, Singapore, Puerto Rico, Honduras and the Dominican Republic. The band has headlined on over 60 cruises on the Royal Caribbean cruise line and played the pre-game show of Super Bowl XLVIII in East Rutherford, NJ in 2014.

In 2007 the band was officially authorized by Bon Jovi to perform its highly entertaining show, which they will now be bringing to the Allamakee County Fair.

ABOUT THE CAMINOS
Playing together for a decade, The Caminos play covers tunes that include a variety from 1970s, ‘80s and ‘90s classics, contemporary pop, tried-and-true country classics, along with some new country. In addition to a song selection that always has attendees singing along, The Caminos fill their shows with fun, humor and high energy.

The Caminos spent their early years building a solid fan base playing local bars and clubs in the tri-state area of northeast Iowa, southwest Wisconsin and southeastern Minnesota. The group has also played a variety of street dances, town celebrations, festivals, private parties and corporate events, feeling right at home at pretty much any venue where they can show their diversity of song selection and musicianship.
