Graveled portion of Prairie Drive closed to through-traffic for several weeks ...

The Allamakee County Engineer’s Office has announced that it has completely closed off a segment of the graveled portion of Prairie Drive just west of Arbor Road, about four miles west of Waukon, as of Monday, October 25 for a culvert replacement and water detention project. The portion of the roadway involved in the project is expected to be completely closed for approximately four weeks, depending upon weather conditions. The will be no signed detour route.

Road Closed Ahead signs will be placed on each end of the graveled portion of Prairie Drive, both on its east end intersection with Old Stage Road and its west end intersection with Empire Drive, allowing limited access to properties on either side of the closed roadway segment. The roadway will be completely closed to all traffic just west of its intersection with Arbor Road and just east of the driveway to the property located adjacent to the immediate west of the project area, which is outlined and highlighted by the red lines in the map at right.
