Kee girls basketball team wins one of three UIC contests

The Kee girls basketball team picked up just one win in three games played this past week, but came well within striking distance of putting all three of those games in the win column. Beginning the week with a 38-35 home loss to MFL/MarMac Tuesday, January 25, the Lady Hawks then posted a 65-37 win at Postville Thursday, January 27 in a game rescheduled from January 18 before falling in another close battle at North Fayette Valley Friday, January 28 by a 52-47 end result.

Holding a 6-10 overall record that includes a now 5-7 mark in Upper Iowa Conference play, the Kee basketball girls were next scheduled to play back-to-back nights that include road games at Mabel-Canton, MN Monday, January 31 and then at Clayton Ridge Tuesday, February 1 before another pair of back-to-back nights of competition including a Thursday, February 3 home date with Turkey Valley postponed from December 10 and a Friday, February 4 venture to South Winneshiek before a Monday, February 7 game at home with Central Elkader rescheduled from January 14 closes out the Lady Hawks’ regular season. The Kee girls are scheduled to begin Class 1A regional tournament play Thursday, February 10 at a site and against an opponent to be announced this week.
