Waukon softball team splits with Waverly-SR for lone win in three games

In one of its lightest schedules of the season, the Waukon softball team won one of just three games played this past week. That win came in a split of a Tuesday, June 14 home doubleheader with Waverly-Shell Rock that included a 4-3 comeback win in the first game and a 6-0 loss in the nightcap. The diamond Tribe wrapped up its week with a 3-0 loss at home to Crestwood Friday, June 17.

Now holding a 4-11 overall record that includes a 1-9 mark in Northeast Iowa Conference play, the Lady Indians were next scheduled to host North Fayette Valley Monday, June 20, play a varsity doubleheader at Decorah Tuesday, June 21, host New Hampton Friday, June 24 and play in the Decorah Tournament Saturday, June 25. The Tribe will then host Charles City for a varsity doubleheader Tuesday, June 28 and MFL/MarMac Wednesday, June 29 before playing at Waverly-Shell Rock Friday, July 1 to wrap up its regular season.
