SIM-IA bringing training to RAGBRAI towns, including Lansing...

The University of Iowa Simulation in Motion-Iowa (SIM-IA) team is headed across the state of Iowa in advance of RAGBRAI XLIX. The simulation truck is making stops in towns along the RABGRAI route - including in Lansing Monday, July 25 from 1-5 p.m., hosting simulated education sessions for first responders, EMTs, paramedics, nurses and physicians. Clinical scenarios will focus on traumas and medical conditions that may occur during the RAGBRAI ride.

The University of Iowa College of Nursing unveiled its first of three mobile simulation centers (pictured above) June 21 at the state capitol in Des Moines. A video introducing the center can be found online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvYyeKOvvUs. SIM-IA delivers simulated clinical learning opportunities to local communities across Iowa. With three mobile simulation trucks, state-of-the-art equipment, and highly trained staff, SIM-IA provides much needed continuing education to Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and other emergency providers throughout the state. The program is funded by an $8 million grant from the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust. Submitted photo.
