First-ever Trivia Night event being held in support of Main Street Lansing

Main Street Lansing will be holding an inaugural Trivia Night event Saturday, February 11 with all proceeds benefiting the Main Street Lansing organization’s historic preservation and economic development efforts in 2023 and beyond. The event will be held at TJ Hunter’s Banquet Hall at 377 Main Street in Lansing and will feature a grand prize of $1,000 to the winning trivia team.

Trivia questions will cover a wide variety of topics and additional games of chance will be held in between trivia rounds, so everyone has a chance to win. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with trivia beginning at 6 p.m.

Cost to participate in the Trivia Night competition is $160.00 for a table of eight ($20 per person). Teams may bring their own food and snacks, and creativity will be rewarded. Individuals who may not have their own team but would like to participate can email director@mainstreetlansing.com to receive team options for participating. Those who would like to take in the event without participating in the actual trivia contest can do so for a donation of $10 to the Main Street Lansing organization.

The event will also feature raffles, as well as a silent auction featuring donations from local retailers, artists and residents. Space is limited to participate and to view the event. To reserve a table to participate in the Trivia Night, pick up an entry form at Kerndt Brothers Savings Bank at 370 Main Street in Lansing or call Main Street board member Maryann Baldwin at 319-573-1955, or a form can also be requested by emailing director@mainstreetlansing.com.

In 2022, Main Street Lansing worked to bring the annual RAGBRAI event back to Lansing for the second time in five years, resulting in a total of $113,000 in profits that has been granted to non-profit, academic and government entities in the Lansing community. Main Street Lansing in 2022 was also responsible for securing a $50,000 grant from T-Mobile that will be used to renovate and improve the public plaza at the corner of Main and Third Streets.  Additional projects undertaken and/or completed by Main Street Lansing include bringing new business to Main Street, installing wayfinding signs around town for residents and visitors, and participating in the publishing of a new city business and recreation map for distribution throughout the region.
