The Kee boys basketball team played one of its busiest schedules this past week, competing in three games within four nights. That stretch also proved to be the Hawks’ most successful timeframe of this campaign, as two of those three games ended up in the win column to begin Kee’s first winning streak of this season. The Hawks shook off an 86-68 loss to South Winneshiek at home to start the week Monday, January 30 in a game made up from mid-December, following that loss with a 75-44 season-sweep win at West Central the next night, Tuesday, January 31 before completing another season sweep with a 69-51 win at Central Elkader Thursday, February 2 in a game made up from late November.

Holding a 6-13 season record that includes a 6-9 mark in Upper Iowa Conference play, the Hawks were next scheduled to wrap up their regular season schedule Tuesday, February 7 at home against Turkey Valley. They will then host their Class 1A District 3 Tournament opener this Friday, February 10 when winless Starmont comes to Lansing, beginning at 7 p.m. The winner of that contest will play at and against Wapsie Valley Monday, February 13 at 7 p.m.
