The wins keep coming for the Waukon boys cross country team, and at just the right time as the distance Tribe wrapped up its invitational season this past week and begins to prepare for its postseason. The latest victory claimed by the Indian boys came at the South Winneshiek Invitational at Calmar Tuesday, October 3, where the Tribe placed all five of its scored runners in the meet’s top 11 individual finishers of the 135-runner high school field to finish as the team champion for a fourth consecutive meet.

The Indians were next scheduled to host the annual Northeast Iowa Conference (NEIC) Meet Tuesday, October 10. They will then prepare for their Class 2A State Qualifying Meet that is scheduled for Thursday, October 19, beginning at 4 p.m., with the closest hosting sites available being either Monticello or Dike-New Hartford.
