Bebe Truelsen
The last of the Clancy girls of Lansing passed away at her home in La Crescent, MN January 9, 2024. Bebe A. Truelsen died after a short illness under the loving care of her daughter, granddaughters and soulmate. Bebe was born April 24, 1937 to Walter L. Clancy and Verona R. (Pottratz) Clancy.
A private service will be held at a later date. Coulee Region Cremation Group, Onalaska, WI is assisting the family.
She is survived by her daughter, Deanna Teklics (Rick); her grandchildren, Breanna Eagon (Brandon), Jessa Selck (Jonathan), Brandon Puleo (Rachele), Jonathan Puleo and Julia Puleo (Stefan); and her great-granddaughter. Amelia Eagon. She is further survived by her soulmate of 43 years, Rick Heiderscheit; her brother, Carl Clancy (Diane); and by countless nieces and nephews, all of whom mourn her passage.
Bebe was preceded in death by her parents and the following siblings: Betty Munchoff, Beverly Boise, Bernadine Feuerhelm, Belva Gramlich, Barbara Leppert, Walter Clancy Jr., Bonita McKee and Deanna Clancy.
Bebe grew up in Lansing where she was baptized, confirmed and graduated. She was educated in the Lansing public schools. Bebe had many friends and faithfully attended her high school reunions. Bebe treasured her friends from her school years. In high school she was a Homecoming queen and was noted for her tenacious basketball skills.
Following her graduation, she lived in numerous locales including Minneapolis, Florida, Viroqua, Kenosha, Lansing and for the past thirty-five years, La Crescent. Bebe was always employed, her primary occupation being clerical.
Bebe should be remembered primarily for her devotion to her family and her generosity. She was always eager to assist if her parents, siblings, or extended family needed any help. She was there for anyone who needed her whether they needed assistance, food or a place to stay. Bebe was very devoted to her grandchildren, her great granddaughter, Amelia, and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of Baby Selck. She was dedicated to helping raise her grandchildren and enjoyed doing it.
Her passion was cooking, gardening and family. She was up at 4 a.m. faithfully this past holiday season making noodles, candy, and cookies for distribution to family and friends. She always made sure the Heiderscheit children had sugar cookies when they visited. She might be the last person to be able to replicate Chip and Verona’s famous fried potatoes and chicken.
Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. A life that touches others goes on forever. Congratulations on a life well lived, Bebe, you will be deeply missed by all.
