Mark "Bob" Wagner

Mark “Bob” Wagner  was born February 13, 1947 in Waukon to Mark and Mary Dougherty Wagner. He passed December 19, 2025 from a long illness.

Bob was raised on a farm in Lansing and attended St. George High School, Lansing and Rock Valley College, Rockford, IL. He served in the U.S. Army and deployed to Vietnam.  He worked for what originally was Barber Colman Company in Loves Park and their subsidiaries for over 52 years. He and his wife of 55 years, Karen Schott Wagner, moved to Virginia with the company for 13 years and returned to work back in Rockford for a few more years before he retired.

Bob and Karen have two children, Brent Wagner of Belvidere and Leasha Johnson (Ryan) of Cheektowaga, NY. They also have one grandson, Dillon Meier, and his wife, Simarra, of Poplar Grove with their infant daughter, Lorena.

He is survived by his sister, Shari Curran (Pat); his brother, Ben (Lisa Love) of Lansing; his sister, Sheila Hermsen (Merle) of Farley; and a brother, Bill Wagner (Cheryl Jackson) of Ferderal Way, WA. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, DeAnn Schott Ford of Waukon. Bob also has lots of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Mary Wagner; his grandparents; his nieces, Lyndsey Hermsen and Ellie Wagner; his sister-in-law, Debbie Wagner; his nephew, Nick Curran; his sisters-in-law, Marjean Schott Fahey and Joyce Schott Haas; his brother-in-law, Larry “Butch” Schott; and his in-laws, Francis and Marge Stoulil Schott.
