Hannah Hagen -
Hannah Hagen is the 17-year-old daughter of Erik and Lisa Hagen of Waterville. She is a senior who has been raised on Hagen Brothers Dairy, a family-owned operation. Being raised on the farm has shaped Hannah’s deep passion for the dairy industry. She has been actively involved in the operation her entire life, assisting with calf care, milking, herd health, and daily management responsibilities.
Hannah is highly involved in 4-H and FFA, where she has grown as a leader, communicator, and advocate for agriculture. She has advanced to the Iowa State Fair multiple times and has received county recognition for leadership and citizenship. As a three-year County Council member and current Ludlow Future Farmers 4-H Club President, she is passionate about mentoring younger members and encouraging youth involvement in agriculture.
She is also a Chapter Star Award recipient in FFA and has been recognized as a Borlaug Scholar through her involvement with the World Food Prize Foundation, participating in both the Iowa Youth Institute and the Global Youth Institute. Through these experiences, she has developed a deeper understanding of global food security and the role dairy producers play in feeding a growing world.
Beyond agriculture, Hannah is active in her church and community. She serves as President of Luther League, is a Sunday School teacher, participates in church choir, and volunteers through mission work and community outreach. She is also a violinist and enjoys sharing her music through performances and service opportunities. In her spare time, Hannah enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking and enjoying nature, and attending barn dances where she especially loves line dancing.
After graduation, Hannah plans to attend Iowa State University to pursue degrees in Animal Science and Agricultural Business, with a focus on dairy production and genetics. She hopes to combine science and business to strengthen herd health, improve genetic advancement, and support the long-term sustainability of dairy operations. Hannah is committed to promoting the dairy industry, advocating for agriculture, and making a positive impact in her community and beyond.
