Addison Winters rewrites her own long jump and 400 meter hurdles school records, Lilah Strong ties high jump record, as both qualify for Drake Relays
The Kee girls track and field team ended up with just one meet on its competition schedule this past week but made the most of that opportunity with some record-setting and showcase-qualifying performances at the MFL/MarMac Invitational Thursday, April 16. The Lady Hawks claimed four event victories to lead the way to 92 team points and a third-place finish in that invitational field, with three of those wins resulting in school record results and two also securing another pair of qualifications for the Kee girls at the Drake Relays scheduled for later this week.
The Lady Hawks were next scheduled to compete in the Crestwood Invitational Tuesday, April 21 before hosting their only home meet of the season, Thursday, April 23, with details of that home meet being printed in a shaded box elsewhere on this week’s Sports pages. Winters and Strong will also compete this Thursday and Friday, April 23-24 in their Drake Relays qualified events in Des Moines. Kee’s girls will then compete at Clayton Ridge Tuesday, April 28 and the MFL/MarMac Invitational Thursday, April 30.
