Winters is 4x UIC Champion in a couple different ways, Strong wins UIC high jump crown, and shuttle hurdle relay of Winters, Strong, Mudderman and Mohn breaks own school record, wins title once again
The Kee girls track and field team competed in two final meets this past week to bring its regular season schedule to a close and gear up for its postseason path that lies ahead. A squad limited in personnel due to the annual senior class trip tied for ninth place in the Edgewood-Colesburg Invitational Monday, May 4 before the Lady Hawks placed fifth overall in the new format of the Upper Iowa Conference Meet Thursday, May 7, with Kee’s team point total earning the Hawks the team championship among the six teams of the Small School Division of this year’s new Upper Iowa Conference format.
Those Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) Meet results included senior Addison Winters laying claim to a pair of four-time All-Conference championship results, as she not only repeated winning four UIC championships in the long jump, 100 meter hurdles, 400 meter hurdles and as a member of the shuttle hurdle relay from last season’s same accomplishment, but she also won that 100 meter hurdle race for the fourth consecutive season. In joining forces with the junior pair of Rylee Mudderman and Lilah Strong and sophomore Morgan Mohn, Winters and her hurdling teammates also rewrote their own school record in defending that UIC event crown.
The Lady Hawks were next scheduled to compete in their Class 1A State Qualifying Meet taking place at Edgewood-Colesburg this Thursday, May 14.
