Kee baseball team’s lone win of the week comes at Waukon, 7-4; Hawks fall to pair of much larger schools at Bettendorf Tournament

The Kee baseball team had a comparatively light schedule this past week lightened even further by Mother Nature, as a Thursday, June 11 opportunity to play at the Field of Dreams site in Dyersville against Underwood was canceled by rainy weather and is not likely to be made up this season. The three games the Hawks were able to play this past week resulted in a single win, 7-4 in a rain-shortened contest at Waukon Wednesday, June 10, before Kee took part in the Bettendorf Tournament and fell to a pair of much larger schools, 14-4 to Class 3A Davenport Assumption and 21-4 against the tournament host from Class 4A.

Currently holding an 8-10 overall record that includes a mark of 5-1 in Upper Iowa Conference play, the Hawks were next scheduled to host four consecutive nights of baseball, welcoming Postville for two varsity games Monday, June 15, Turkey Valley Tuesday, June 16, North Fayette Valley Wednesday, June 17 for two varsity games and South Winneshiek Thursday, June 18, before playing at Osage for two varsity games Saturday, June 20. Kee will then play two varsity games at Turkey Valley Monday, June 22, play junior varsity/varsity dates at New Hampton Wednesday, June 24 and at Clayton Ridge Thursday, June 25, and then play in the Brent Prange Classic hosted by North Polk High School against Alta-Aurelia and Sioux Central Saturday, June 27.
