Recent memorial donations purchase new tourniquet for Surgery Department procedures
New tourniquet system recently added at VMH ... The Veterans Memorial Hospital (VMH) Surgical Team has a new tourniquet system which was recently purchased with memorial funds gifted to the hospital Foundation. This new system offers state-of-the-art enhanced pressure monitoring during surgical procedures in the operating room. Thanks to the generosity of donors supporting the Veterans Memorial Health Care Foundation, the hospital’s Surgical Suite has purchased a new surgical tourniquet system for the operating room. This advanced technology is designed to enhance patient safety while providing surgeons with improved precision during upper and lower extremity procedures.
“Our commitment is to continually invest in technology that improves the surgical experience for both our patients and our healthcare team,” said Jessica Jones, OR Manager. “Adding this new tourniquet system is another step toward providing safe, high-quality surgical care close to home.”
The new tourniquet system offers enhanced pressure monitoring and individualized pressure settings, helping to minimize the amount of pressure applied while maintaining a bloodless surgical field. This allows surgeons to perform procedures with greater visibility and accuracy while supporting optimal patient care.
“We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our donors,” adds Jones. “Their support allows us to invest in innovative equipment that enhances patient safety, improves surgical care, and benefits our entire community.”
The Veterans Memorial Health Care Foundation often receives donations in memory of a loved one when they pass. Many donors do choose to apply their donation to a certain department within the hospital that most touched their lives. This new tourniquet system was purchased with funds which were dedicated to the Surgical Department to use when they had a need, such as this.
