Alfred and Jeanne Stein of Lansing are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Alfred Stein and Jeanne Barragy were married February 24, 1968 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockwell. The couple will be celebrating the occasion with a private family gathering to be held at a future date.

Their children include Michel (Michael) Herrington of Omaha, NE, Christopher (Stephanie) Stein, both deceased, and Andy (Tara) Stein of Lansing. Their grandchildren include Elijah Herrington (19), Josiah Herrington (16), Isaac Herrington (12), Lilyana Herrington (9), Ashlyn Stein (5), Kaili Stein (3) and Cael Stein (1).

Donna Beneke and Jason Devine exchanged wedding vows September 9, 2017 at 3 p.m. at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Eitzen, MN. Pastor Paul Burgess and Pastor Bill Reese officiated the ceremony.

Parents of the bride are Keith and Faye Beneke of New Albin and parents of the groom are John and Linda Devine of La Crosse, WI.

The Matron of Honor was Christine Lundin, friend of the bride, with attendants being Kristi Beneke, sister-in-law of the bride, Megan Adams and Tiffany Wehmeyer, cousins of the bride, and Manda Laufenberg, Cassie Fouts, Bobbi Jo Worden and Julie Place, friends of the bride. Brooklyn Beneke, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Personal attendants were Amanda Bakker and Sarah Bakula, friends of the bride.

Todd and Brianne Leikvold of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Piper Marie Leikvold, born February 9, 2018 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs. 7 ozs. and measured 21-3/4 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins siblings, Gannon (3) and Kellen (1-1/2).

Grandparents are Brian and Karen Burke of Dorchester and Lyle and Cindy Leikvold of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Fran Fahey and LeOtia Flage, both of Waukon.
 

The Waukon High School Class of 1961will meet February 23 at 11:30 a.m. at Gus & Tony’s. All classmates are invited.

Les and JoAnn Winters of Waukon will be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. Les Winters and JoAnn (Schwartzhoff) Winters were married February 18, 1978 in Waukon.

They are the parents of Travis Winters, Amanda (Lloyd Stegen) Winters, Stacy (Seth) Yager and Tom (Samantha Korn) Winters. Henry Stegen is their grandchild.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of the University of Arizona and is employed as a Training and Communications Coordinator for Curriculum Associates, a Massachusetts-based company.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of the University of Arizona and is employed as a Rocket Scientist with Raytheon Missile Systems Co. in Tucson, AZ.

The couple is planning a May 27, 2018 wedding at St. Frances Cabrini Church in Tucson, AZ, with a honeymoon in Nashville, TN.
