Area resident faces drug, explosive charges

Drug and explosives charges have led to the arrest of Grant Mork, 51, of Postville. Mork is being held without bond in the Allamakee County Jail.
When attempting to arrest Mork January 28 on a federal warrant, ingredients used in the manufacture of meth at the Mork residence were observed.
Having obtained a warrant, the officers allegedly found a pipe bomb, bomb-making materials, and a loaded gun. While searching Mork's vehicle in Guttenberg, law enforcement officials allegedly found another loaded gun and meth precursors. Mork, who was arrested by the Clayton County Sheriff's office, had meth and meth precursors on his person. This information was released by the Allamakee County Sheriff's office.
Other information from the Allamakee County Sheriff's office stated "Officials were attempting to arrest Mork on a federal indictment resulting from the execution last year of a search warrant. At that time (2004), they seized, among other things, a meth lab, a pipe bomb, bomb-making materials and loaded guns."
