Deadline for Allamakee County Flood and Storm Relief second round of funding is November 7

The Allamakee County Flood and Storm Relief Fund Committee has recently awarded $10,157.62 in reimbursement payments to homeowners and businesses who applied for funding to replace water heaters and/or furnaces destroyed in the storms of last June. Because of the generous donations that have been made to the Flood and Storm Relief Fund, more money is now available for a second round of funding assistance to aid homeowners and businesses.
Applications for this new round of funding will begin immediately with the deadline for submission being 4:30 p.m. November 7. Applications will be reviewed and money disbursed by December 13 of this year. The reimbursement can be up to $1,000 per household or business and can cover damage such as mold abatement, materials and installation for flooring, or purchase and installation of construction materials such as drywall.
Applications for the assistance can be picked up at the Allamakee County Economic Development Office, 101 West Main Street in Waukon, at any Allamakee County Bank, or online at www.allamakeecounty.com under the Economic Development tab. Along with the application, applicants must submit or provide the following information: photo identification, proof of residence or business being located in Allamakee County, a copy of 2012 tax return, all contractor contact information (name, address, telephone number), copy of the paid receipt for work done (this is a reimbursement program which means that a receipt must be produced).
Priority will be given to applicants who have purchased all or most of their supplies from businesses in Allamakee County or in northeast Iowa.  Persons who did qualify and receive funding in Round One are also eligible to apply for Round Two funding.
