Edgar Haar

Edgar G. Haar, 88, of Eitzen, MN, died May 12, 2000, at the Lutheran Home in Caledonia, MN.
He was born July 3, 1911, in Winnebago Township, Houston County, MN, to Herman and Lena (Meyer) Haar. On Oct. 27, 1937, he married Matha Tubandt in Miller, SD. She preceeded him in death March 29, 1993. Edgar farmed in the Eitzen area until 1960. He was employed by Nelson Constructuion in Caledonia until his retirement.
Surviviors include a daughter, Linda (Bob) Hartley of Waukon; a son Larry (Cynthia) Haar of Holmen, WI; five grandchildren, Michelle Hartley of Winona, MN, Courtney (Eric) Blahnik of Plymouth, MN, Randy and Peter Haar, both of Eden Prairie, MN, and Kevin Haar of Holmen; two great-grandchildren, Brennan Hartley of Winona and Kayla Blahnik of Plymouth; a sister, Hilda (William) Beneke of Eitzen; and a sister-in-law, Mabel Haar of Caledonia. In addition to his wife, Edgar was preceeded in death by his parents; a sister; and two brothers.
Funeral services were held May 15 at St. Lukes United Church of Christ, Eitzen. Rev. Paul Burgess officiated the service. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
