Egan, Frick united August 14 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church

Karen Egan and Eddie Frick were united in marriage Saturday, August 14, 2004, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Waukon. Rev. Joseph Schneider officiated the 2 p.m. ceremony.
Parents of the couple are John and Debbie Egan and Roger and Sue Frick, all of Waukon. Grandparents of the bride are Myrtle Egan of Harpers Ferry and Barb and Emmett Magner of Cedar Rapids. The groom's grandmother is Marian Frick of Nashua.
The church altar was decorated with floral arrangements featuring purple roses and similar to the bridesmaids' bouquets. Pews were adorned with baskets filled with flowers.
Karen was given in marriage by her parents, John and Debbie Egan. She chose a white, strapless, sculptured bodice overlaid with embroidered tulle and framed with intricate beading. The skirt was a multi-layered tulle ballgown style featuring asymmetric front and back drapes decorated with scattered embroidery. A detachable chapel-length train was also made of tulle. The bride wore a tiara and sequin-lined veil. She carried purple roses in three shades.
Janet Mohwinkle, Alicia Kelly, and Andrew Olson were personal attendants.
Matrons of honor were the bride's sisters, Julie Miller and Diane Kruse. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Egan, sister-in-law of the bride, Kelli Egan, cousin of the bride, Jenny Hager, and Missy Ford. The ladies wore victorian lilac strapless, A-line dresses featuring beading on the bodice and a matching shawl. Each carried a flower arrangement featuring purple roses.
Best men for the ceremony were Chris Frick, brother of the groom, and Nick Farley. Groomsmen were the bride's brothers, Kevin and Brian Egan, and Matt Farley and Gabe Feuerhelm.
Ushers were Gerald Miller and Jason Kruse, brothers-in-law of the bride, and Larry Burns and Shawn Schellhammer.
Flower girl was Amberlyn Kruse, niece of the bride, and ring bearer was Lucas Miller, nephew of the bride.
Miniature bride and groom were Chelsea Whitenack and Brennen Frick, niece and nephew of the groom.
Jacque Novak and Monica Ehrhardt were soloists and Mary Regan played the organ.
A reception followed the ceremony at the Waukon Fairgrounds Pavilion. Tables in the hall was decorated with pastel bouquets and candles. Each place setting had bag of purple and silver M&Ms.
Hosts and hostesses for the reception were the bride's godfather, Bruce Cliff, and Judy Cliff and Gary and Colleen Schellhammer.
Cindy Egan and Marylin Jordan presided at the guestbook.
Cake cutters were Barb Van Den Berghe and Diane Humbert.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of Waukon Senior High and received an Associate of Arts degree in early childhood education from Northeast Iowa Community College, Calmar. She works with the Kids Club after school program at West Elementary.
The groom is a 2000 graduate of Waukon Senior High. He served in Iraq with the Decorah-based 389th Engineer Battalion of the Army Reserves and currently works with Hanson Construction.
They reside in Cresco.
