Elsie K. Breitsprecher, 98, of Decorah, formerly of Waukon, died Friday, April 8, 2005, at Aase Haugen Home in Decorah. At her request, there will be no services.
Elsie was born March 26, 1907, in Waukon, Iowa, the daughter of David and Emma (Greiser) Knopf. She attended St. Patrick’s School in Waukon. Elsie spent one year in California, where she worked for Douglas Aircraft Company, and then returned to Waukon where she worked as a sales clerk at the JC Penney store for 27 years.
Survivors include three nieces, Karen Fairchild, Norma Smith, and Mary Alice Knopf; three nephews, Michael, Mark, and Ronnie Knopf; and many great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Paul, David, and Walter Knopf; and two sisters, Alice Jagerson and Martha Hewitt.
