Extension Workshop offers Better Kid Care

“Easy Ways to Boost Kids’ Brain Power” is the title of a workshop being presented by Iowa State University Extension. All childcare providers, teachers of young children, and interested parents can participate in a workshop being held Thursday, April 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Allamakee County Extension office, 21 Allamakee Street in Waukon, Phone 563-568-6345.

This workshop will help participants learn how to help children develop thinking skills. Emphasis will be on teaching children to solve problems and guiding children to explore options in solving problems. The workshop will offer tips on developing reasoning skills with young children.

This Extension workshop is part of a Better Kid Care child care provider training program offered by satellite from Penn State Cooperative Extension. HAWC Empowerment Partnerships for Children is co-sponsoring these program locations with Northeast Iowa Extension at no cost to participants.

To register for the program, participants are asked to call the workshop location they wish to attend at least 24 hours before the program to assure seating, hand-outs and certification certificates are available.
