First Baptist hosts 2005 AWANA Grand Prix

The AWANA Clubs of First Baptist Church held their annual Grand Prix Car Race April 6 at the Farmers and Merchants Bank Community Room. Clubbers building a race car for the event included Birk Shaikoski, Logan Winters, Laura Riese, Stephen Dahlstrom, Kim Promnitz, Tony Swehla, Haylee Rathbone, Zach Rathbone, Logan Wood, Taylor O’Connell, Elizabeth Riese, Cora Rubendall, Marissa Martins, Realynn Hawkins, Michael Roth, Andrea Hawkins, Katie Riese, Heather Van Ruler, Luke Hermanson, Tyler Roth, Jordan Manning, Alissa Schon, Austin Roth, Genny Scholtes, and Andi Treptau.

All clubbers received a blue participation ribbon.

Grand Prix chairman was Larry Gelo and Mike Roth was Starter Chairman. Chart Keeper was Chris Kerndt, with Pam Kerndt, Bryan Bollman, and Tony Brady as Design Judges. Finish line Judges were Jim Gelo and JoAnn Gelo. Weigh-in Judge was Dave Schon.

Decorating was done by Cheryl Nierling and JoAnn Gelo with a display of past Grand Prix winners and old car parts. Lunch was served by Brenda Promnitz and Jean Ann Schon.
