Franciscan Skemp to offer summer shadowing program in nursing

Franciscan Skemp Healthcare is again offering its second annual Summer Shadowing Program in Nursing for high school students who are currently sophomores, and are beginning to make career plans for their future. The program will run from June 15 through August 17 this year.
This unique program includes a broad range of departments throughout the hospital, such as the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit/ Pediatrics, OB/Labor & Delivery, Urgent Care, Intensive Care Unit, Oncology and the Emergency Medical and Trauma Center. The Summer Shadowing Program in Nursing will give students the opportunity to follow Franciscan Skemp professionals through a ten-week experience that will enhance their knowledge of nursing.
Applications are now available at area high school guidance departments or in Volunteer Services at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center. The applicants are required to provide two letters of recommendation. The deadline for submitting an application is Friday, April 22.
