Humane Society launches Capital Campaign to build Adoption Center

The Humane Society of Northeast Iowa (HSNEI) announces the public phase of the “Help Us Help Them” Adoption Center Capital Campaign. The Adoption Center groundbreaking is scheduled to happen in Spring 2014. Over $449,000, or 75% of the campaign goal, was raised in the private phase of the campaign thanks to generous donations from supporters in the five northeast Iowa communities HSNEI serves. HSNEI now turns to the public to reach the campaign goal of $600,000.
Those interested may contribute to HSNEI’s Capital Campaign by naming part of the shelter, having a brick engraved, or adding a name to the donor wall. Learn more about how to “Help Us Help Them” at www.hsnei.org/capital-campaign. Naming opportunities start with engraved bricks. One-time and three-year pledges are available. Donations are made through the Winneshiek County Community Foundation.
The HSNEI Adoption Center build is scheduled to begin in Spring 2014 on three acres owned by HSNEI on Millenium Road in Decorah. The 4,700 square foot facility will allow HSNEI to care for up to 100 animals at a time until they find their forever homes. Volunteers from surrounding communities will have the opportunity to interact with dogs and cats. For more information on HSNEI visit www.hsnei.org or e-mail hsneiowa@gmail.com. Submitted photo.
