ILA SCHILTZ

Ila F. Schiltz, 80, of Caledonia, MN, died June 21, 2000, at the Franciscan Skemp Medical Center, LaCrosse, WI.
She was born December 22, 1919, in Davison County, SD, to Guy and Wilma (Growcock) Besse. On November 23, 1938, she married Harold Schiltz at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Caledonia. Together they farmed west of Caledonia until Harold's death on December 15, 1980. Ila continued to live on the farm for the remainder of her life.
Ila was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Caledonia, where she served as a member of the Catholic Christian Women, (CCW). She was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed quilting. Ila also enjoyed spending time watching birds and animals.
Survivors include two sons, Gary and Steven Schiltz of Caledonia; three daughters, Joanne (Robert) Buege, Eileen (Arvid) Jacobsen, both of Caledonia, and Gail (George) Teff of Dorchester; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen (Marvin) Meiners of Brownsville and Pauline (Leon) Schmoll of Caledonia; and one brother, Russell (Lorriane) Besse of Caledonia.
In addition to her husband, Ila was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and four brothers.
Funeral Services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Caledonia on June 24. Fr. Don Schmitz and Fr. Henry Charipar officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia.
