Irma Koontz

Irma C. (Nicky) Koontz died of natural causes at Benefit East Hospital in Great Falls, MT, on Dec. 8, 1999.
Mrs. Koontz was born to Bernard and Gena Roese of Waterville on Jan. 21, 1915. She married John (Jack) Fieldman Koontz at St. Pious Catholic Church at Cherry Mound on Aug. 8, 1933. He passed away July 1, 1972, at their farm near Belt, MT. She was a graduate of Waterville High School in 1932 and attended Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls. Mrs. Koontz was a member of Tiger Butte Homemakers Club and was a past member of the Sons of Norway and the Eagles Auxiliary.
She is preceded in death by two infant brothers; another brother, Clifton Roese; and three sisters, Gladys Evans, Iva Brannon and Merle Mitchell. She is survived by two sons, Edward (Ginny) of Moreno Valley, CA, and James (Marlene) of Great Falls, MT; and one daughter, Jacqueline Goodwin of Huntington Beach, CA. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held. Burial took place in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Waukon.
