Kee High’s Lady Hawks track team competed in the Lady Pirates’ Invitational at Postville Tuesday, April 5. Kee placed sixth overall in the competition and managed to grab themselves a fair share of medals.
Jenny Becker and Asyah Moore led the team in field events once again Tuesday when they tied for second place in the long jump. Both girls jumped 14' 3", which was only a half an inch less than the first-place winner.
Although Kee came up short in many of the running events, they still made an excellent effort and have the medals to prove it. Jenny Becker took second place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.15 and she took second as well in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.09 seconds.
Pam Krambeer, Chelsea Stone, Kelly Reed, and Kim Gavin competed in the distance medley relay, (200m-200m-400m-800m) in 5:07.02, to snag fifth place. Kee placed fifth once again in the 4x100-meter relay, runners included Pam Krambeer, Asyah Moore, Amy Schwartzhoff, and Jenny Becker.
Asyah Moore ran the 100-meter dash in 13.85 seconds, which ended up being good enough for fifth place as well. Moore also took sixth place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 29.24 seconds.
The 4x200-meter relay, which consisted of Pam Krambeer, Chelsea Stone, Amy Schwartzhoff, and Kelly Reed, placed sixth with a time of 2:06.69.
