Local dentists offer free dental care during "Have a Heart" Day scheduled for February 8

For 24 years in a row the doctors and staff of Waukon Dental, Dental Associates of Decorah, P.C., Family Dentistry Associates of Monona, and Dental Associates of Prairie du Chien (celebrating 20 years) have hosted their “Have a Heart” Day. Area residents are encouraged to participate in the annual “Have a Heart” Day scheduled by area health care providers for Saturday, February 8.
The goal of the "Have a Heart" Day is to provide services to any interested parties who have not sought recent dental care for whatever reason. Children ages four through 18 seeking appointments could receive a complete dental examination, consultation, necessary x-rays, sealants, emergency dental care or a needed filling at no charge.
This event is scheduled during the Valentine’s season as a community service project to provide services to those in need. The local healthcare providers appreciate the strong support they receive, so in turn the doctors and staff look forward to this event each year.
Since the event started in 1991, it has grown to include several towns and businesses. The community effort is a source of pride for doctors serving area residents.
Area residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity or alert others they know who could benefit. Unlike many free health care days, no financial proof of need is required. Although no one is excluded from the day, the hope is to reach those area residents in need who have no other financial support.
