Paving of Eleventh Avenue SW is set to get underway, with preliminary work already taking place along the roadway. The road is currently closed, as evident by the “Road Closed” sign and barricades pictured above at the intersection of Eleventh Avenue SW and Rossville Road on the south edge of town. As of now, the Second Street SW extension that connects with Eleventh Avenue SW and provides one point of access to Peterson Auto Repair, Pamida, Dollar General and Citizens State Bank from downtown is open to traffic, but once the paving project reaches the intersection of those two roadways that extension will also be closed down. Even though Peterson Auto Repair is located right in the midst of the project, the business will remain open throughout its completion (see advertisement inside this week’s issue). Providing Mother Nature is cooperative, paving is planned to begin in mid to late April, with completion by the end of May.
