Robey Memorial Library moving to temporary location during renovation phase of library project

Robey Memorial Library in Waukon will be closed Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7 to move library services to a temporary location in the basement of the library's new addition. The entrance to that new temporary location can be accessed off Fourth Street NW. This move will allow patrons to use library services (collection, public access computers, wireless internet connection, etc.) while construction crews renovate the current library building.

The temporary location and accompanying renovation is scheduled to take approximately six weeks. During that six-week period, Robey Memorial Library wants to make sure its patrons and other area residents are aware of the following:

• Robey Memorial Library will have a small meeting space available but the current Community Room will not be available.

• Robey Memorial Library will have some public access computers and will have wireless internet connection available.

• Robey Memorial Library will have current magazines and newspapers available for reading in the library.

• All items will be available for check-out and browsing.

• Most of the library's collection will be shelved upstairs. Staff will be ready and willing to assist patrons with limited mobility in finding or retrieving collection materials.

• Robey Memorial Library will have very limited seating and little or no table space.

Additional items to remember:

• Construction noise! In general, the library will be quieter after 5 p.m.

• Parking will continue to be limited until at least the re-opening of the entire building. Robey Memorial Library apologizes for the inconvenience.

• Book collections will be shuffled to accommodate for construction. Staff will be happy to help patrons find what they are looking for.

• Patrons are welcome to call to renew items over the phone.

• Robey Memorial Library will continue to offer Story Time Tuesdays from 10:30-11 a.m. and Tech Tutor Thursdays from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
