Wagner named Player of the Week in Iowa Conference

Coe College junior outfielder Ashley Wagner of Lansing, has been named the Iowa Conference Softball Player of the Week for the period ended April 3.
Wagner led off Saturday’s, April 2 doubleheader against Central with her fourth home run of the season against reigning IIAC MVP Corrie Schmidt. Her third home run of the season was a two-run blast on Thursday in an 8-1 win against fourth-ranked Augustana.
In six games last week, Wagner hit .368 (7-for-19) with five RBIs and seven runs scored. Her .403 overall average this season leads the Kohawks and ranks eighth in the league. Wagner leads the IIAC in home runs (4), runs scored (27), slugging percentage (.645) and total bases (40).
