Weekend collision on icy roadway claims Wisconsin pair

The Iowa State Patrol reports a two-vehicle accident north of Monona in Allamakee County claimed the lives of two individuals from Mount Hope, WI Saturday, December 12.
The report indicates that at approximately 10:30 that night a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Bill Moose of Mount Hope, WI was traveling northbound on County Road X26, which was listed as 100% ice covered at the time of the accident. Attempting to negotiate a right-hand curve, Moose lost control of his vehicle, which crossed the center line and was involved in a head-on collision with a vehicle being driven southbound by 78-year-old Arno Schlitter of Luana.
Moose and a passenger, 27-year-old Loreena Zehrung of Mount Hope, WI, both died as a result of injuries received in the crash, with another passenger, 23-year-old Terry Moose of Monona, being injured and transported by ambulance to Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Schlitter and his passenger, 69-year-old Josephine Schlitter of Luana, were both transported by ambulance to Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, WI.
