Gordy and Darlene Kaeser of Waukon will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary September 23 at the Waukon Golf and Country Club from 4-7 p.m. The couple was married September 24, 1967 at Glenwood Lutheran Church in rural Decorah.
They are the parents of three children, Mark (deceased), Michael and Melissa. They have three granddaughters, Mackenzie, Marina and Madelyn. The couple requests no gifts.
Family, friends and relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kugel are invited to a celebration at the Farmers and Merchants Savings Bank Community Room in Waukon September 30 from 2-4 p.m. The couple recently exchanged vows and this event is being held for those unable to attend the wedding ceremony in Florida.

Brady and Brookelyn Kruger of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Clark James Kruger, born September 6, 2017 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs. 13 ozs. and measured 20-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins sisters, Brielle (7), Rozlyn (5) and Everly (2).

Steven and Amanda Burg of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Kashton James Burg, born September 6, 2017 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 9 lbs. 6 ozs. and measured 20-3/4 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins brothers, Leon (5-1/2) and Owen (1-1/2).

Brooke O’Neill and Levi Jones of Harpers Ferry announce the birth of their son, River John Jones, born September 7, 2017 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs. 13 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of his birth.

Morgan Davis of Lansing announces the birth of her son, Jace Hendrix Davis, born September 10, 2017 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 5 lbs. 15 ozs. and measured 20-1/4 inches in length at the time of his birth.

Kenneth A. Johnson, 77, of Newhall died Monday, September 11, 2017 at Dennis & Donna Hospice House in Hiawatha following a courageous battle with cancer. To honor his wishes, Kenneth was cremated. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, September 15 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Norway with Father Joseph Butz, C.S.S.R. and Father Robert Butz as Co-Celebrants. Interment was held at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Norway with Graveside Military Rites.
Kenneth was born in Waukon April 20, 1940 to Earl and Norma (Halvorson) Johnson and attended Waukon Public Schools. He then earned an AAS degree in Electronic Engineering at Area 10 Community College in Cedar Rapids.
Kenneth served his nation in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962 and was a member of the John Ward McGranahan American Legion Post #167 of Newhall. April 20, 1963, he was united in marriage to Donna Butz at Norway.
