The Kee boys track team got to experience its first outdoor competition of the 2019 season, finishing near the middle of the pack in a pair of invitational meets this past week. The Hawks claimed a 10th-place finish in the large Edgewood-Colesburg Invitational that took place Tuesday, April 2 before finishing fifth at Postville’s Foster-Kiesau Relays Friday, April 5, a day later than the meet’s original April 4 date due to cold, damp weather.

“We had two meets his week and I felt they were worthwhile,” Kee boys track coach Pat Wagner said. “The Ed-Co meet was a competitive meet, a lot of good small school track teams. At Postville, we showed a good deal of improvement. My hats off to the people at Postville; they ran a very efficient meet.  (Senior) Jacob Berns is off to an excellent start to the season.
