Indian track and field, golf teams in action this week

Waukon Senior High’s boys and girls golf and track and field teams are gearing up for another week of competition.

Waukon’s golf team were scheduled to tee off for the first time of the year Tuesday. Next on the schedule for the girls is next Monday’s contest with Waverly-Shell Rock. Waukon hosts the 4 p.m. event.

The boys golf squad also matches the Go-Hawks next Monday, however their meet is in Waverly.

The Indian girls track and field squad will travel to Decorah this Thursday, April 7, for a 5 p.m. meet. Next Tuesday, April 12, the Tribe will host the Waukon Early Bird meet. Teams scheduled to compete with Waukon in the quadrangular event are South Winn, Turkey Valley, and North Fayette. Competition in field events begins at 4:45 p.m. with running events starting at 5 p.m.

The boys track and field Tribe will travel to Waverly for the April 8 Go-Hawk Invitational. Monday, April 11, the Indians take to the track at Decorah. Competition starts at 5 p.m. both nights.
