VMH In-Step: Off and running

Veterans Memorial Hospital’s annual community wellness program “In Step with VMH” began last week. Over 70 teams will spend the next seven weeks enrolled in this wellness program, exercising and eating right to win points for their team.
In Step with VMH offers five options in promoting a healthy lifestyle. Teams of four will count not only the number of times they exercised each week of the eight week program, but points will also be tallied for eating at least five servings of fruits and vegetables per day, flossing teeth, drinking recommended amounts of water, eating breakfast, and buckling-up whenever in a vehicle.
Businesses participating in the 2005 In Step with VMH Community Wellness Program include Allamakee Clayton Electric Cooperative, Allamakee Community Schools, Allamakee County, Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office, Blumenthal Lansing Company, Citizens State Bank, Decorah Auto Center, Eastern Allamakee Community Schools, Elliott Jewelers, Farm Bureau Financial Services, First Baptist Church, Foremost Farms USA, Franciscan Skemp Waukon Clinic, German Farmers Mutual Insurance, Good Samaritan Center-Postville, Good Samaritan Center-Waukon, Gundersen Lutheran Clinic-Decorah, Gundersen Lutheran Clinic-Waukon, Harman’s High Chaparall, Impro Products, Kwik Star-Lansing, Main Street Entertainment, Martin Funeral Home, Northgate Care Center, Old Rossville Store, Pamida, Postville Medical Clinic, Postville State Bank, Postville Vet Clinic, Stoney Creek Inn, Upper Explorerland Regional Planning Commission, Veterans Memorial Hospital, Shelly Vine/Diana Ness/Janice Dougherty Daycares, Waukon Feed Ranch, Waukon Yamaha, Inc., and Wayne Howe Trucking.
