The Iowa State Patrol responded to a one vehicle motorcycle accident on June 17, five miles west of New Albin on county road A26.
The accident report indicates Robert Sturch, 52, of Waterloo to have been operating a 1991 Harley Davidson motorcycle west bound on A26 when he failed to negotiate a sharp curve and entered the south ditch. Sturch and his passenger, Sandra Sturch, 52, also of Waterloo, were both ejected from the vehicle.
Both parties were transported to Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon, whereupon Sturch, the driver, was airlifted to Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.
Sturch was cited with failure to maintain control. The motorcyle suffered as estimated $5,000 in damages.
